Early childhood should be a time of creativity and wonder, of a sense that the world is good and that love abounds. The experiences of the early years set the tone for life. Yet, in today's pressured and hurried world, children often lose their childhood too quickly and show signs of growing stress and strain. What can we do to help strengthen the children in our families and schools and those in the world around us so that they can live healthy, creative lives?

Drawing on the insights of Waldorf early childhood education and experiences in addressing childhood issues in the wider world, we'll explore the world of today's child, and the implications for the child's future and society's future. Throughout, the emphasis will be on things we can do to brighten the lives of children and recapture the forces of childhood.
