Anthroposophy teaches that illness has a unique function in human destiny, in contrast to illness in animals or plants. Rudolf Steiner said that in order to heal the ills of society it would be necessary to disseminate widely in popular culture knowledge of health and illness based on anthroposophy. This course will attempt to lay a foundation for a healthy, non-fear-based understanding of the nature and purpose of illness and healing in human life. We will look in-depth at infection, cancer, the immune system, and other health topics of special interest to course participants.

To complement the course we will do wet-on-wet watercolor painting. Ourpurpose will be to experience the luster colors of red, yellow and blue by developing Goethe's color wheel into a plant motif. We will paint other color combinations and motifs to experience contraction/expansion, warm/cool, and other polarities that play an important role in the inner life and health of human beings.
