Two Week Program: July 13 - 26, 2:30 - 4:00 pm
Young children have a sensitivity and openness to the qualities and soul moods of color that can be nurtured and developed throughout their development. As adult teachers of children, it can be a struggle to reconnect to the inner qualities of color, and to find ways to bring color experiences to children. This course can help. It is designed as an introductory painting course in grades 1-8.
We will discuss and experience painting exercises that focus on color moods and qualities for the children in the younger grades, and how to bring those color qualities into painted themes from the curriculum in the older grades. Other practical aspects, such as materials and set up, will be discussed.
This is an excellent introductory course for student teachers, beginning teachers or current teachers who have had little training or experience in teaching painting, or individuals who are interested in how painting is developed in the Waldorf curriculum in the lower school. No previous painting experience is required.
