Movement Towards Freedom: Young at Heart
JOHN SACCONE 
teaches Movement Education at the Merriconeag Waldorf School in Freeport, Maine. He is a graduate of the Spacial Dynamics Institute and a certified Bothmer gymnast. He continues his movement studies with the program's director, Jaimen McMillan. John is a professional mime, actor, and juggler and has toured the U.S., Canada, and Europe with Tony Montanaro's theater ensemble. He is also a resident guest artist with the Portland Ballet Company and a faculty member of Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio. John currently performs a two-person show of original theater with his wife, Jackie Reifer.
Two Week Program: July 13 - 26, 4:30 - 6:00 pm
We will explore movements that free us from our habits and attitudes by taking a light and lionhearted look at play. Using Bothmer gymnastics, juggling, mime, javelin, discus, sports, and games, all from the perspective of Spacial Dynamics®, we will experience the joy of playing together.
We will work with the movement curriculum through the grades and ask ourselves why we bring these activities at certain times and not at other times. More importantly, we will ask the questions: How do I work on myself? What do I bring to my own artistic work? How do I become a model for change in the world? How do I become worthy of imitation?
