The Institute has seven scholarship funds available to participants.

Because we have limited scholarship funds available, we regret that we cannot grant scholarships to every applicant who has a need for financial assistance, and cannot always grant the amount of funds requested. When you apply for a scholarship, please ask for the minimum amount of funds needed so that we can better meet the needs of all who apply.

As part of its mission and vision, the Rudolf Steiner Institute strives to make it possible for people of all ages and socio-economic levels to benefit from our program. We believe that by supporting the inner development of others, we are all helped. As individuals begin to heal and transform themselves, so too will the world be healed and transformed.
The Rudolf Steiner Institute is committed to assisting those with limited incomes to participate in the program. Each year our objective is to help anyone with a sincere desire to attend. With the help of donors' gifts large and small, it is our greatest hope that we will expand our efforts to reach out to individuals from all walks of life who are seeking to deepen the meaning of their lives and who would benefit from the support of a community of fellow seekers. As our community grows in number, it is our intention to make the Institute experience affordable to more people by increasing the number and amount of scholarships granted.
The Institute has six scholarship funds available to participants:
The Waldorf Teacher/Staff Scholarship Fund is made possible each year by a generous grant from the Waldorf Education Foundation. These scholarships are awarded on a first-come basis to faculty and staff employed at least half-time at Waldorf Schools and training centers which are recognized by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA). The Deborah Hill Memorial Scholarship Fund for Young People and Minorities was instituted in memory of a long-time Institute Registrar and Co-director, Deborah Hill, who died in 1993. Debbie was a tireless worker for the Institute, and was particularly interested in encouraging the participation of young people and minorities in the Institute. This fund is made possible by the contributions of individual donors.
The Naomi Miller Senior Scholarship Fund was instituted in 1995 as the result of a bequest from the estate of Naomi Miller. Naomi was a very energetic senior participant at the Institute, and a diligent and lively helper in the kitchen. The Board of the Institute wished to honor the memory of Naomi by supporting the attendance of seniors on fixed incomes. This fund is made possible by the contributions of individual donors.
The Rudolf Steiner Institute Fund for Waldorf Parents is made possible when income from the Institute session exceeds expenses.
The Rudolf Steiner Institute General Assistance Fund is made possible when income from the Institute session exceeds expenses. The Institute Board determines each year the amount of monies available to individuals who do not meet the requirements of the above-mentioned scholarship funds. The majority of these funds are granted in exchange for work done by the applying individuals. Work/study opportunities include working in the kitchen, bookstore, helping with transportation, assisting staff, etc. A limited number of Work/study assignments are performed outside of the Institute session. The Rudolf Steiner Institute Sponsorship Fund brings individuals to the Institute who are working to bring life-giving initiatives into their impoverished communities. This fund is made possible by the contributions of individual donors.
