Dear Friends of the Institute,

I first want to thank all who gave so generously to our annual appeal last December. It was heartening so many people showed their support to the mission of the Institute, even in these difficult times.
We on the Board are excited about this year’s session at Stonehill College. It is a beautiful campus in close proximity to Boston and Cape Cod.  We have been warmly welcomed by the conference staff, which has gone out of their way to help make our transition as smooth as possible. We believe our community of participants, faculty and friends will enjoy and embrace our new surroundings with enthusiasm and help us at the Institute create a unique and memorable 2009 session.

Historically whenever RSI has moved to a new campus, we have faced numerous challenges. This year is no exception. Like everyone else we have had to face the harsh realities of the current economic climate. We made decisions and changes that reflect the times we live in. We decided to create new publication, to free up additional funds for scholarships and a new website to make RSI more visible to the world. We have costs associated with the move that we normally wouldn’t accrue.

Each step of this year’s planning we have had to deal with obstacles that have been overcome through sheer resolve, will power and commitment to the vision of the Institute. As of writing we still continue to confront various hurdles that will accompany us right up to July. I have been privileged to see firsthand the hard work that goes on all year to create a structure that breathes life in to our exceptional community. It is truly amazing and inspiring, especially this year.

We are asking for your support and to consider making a donation to help us meet or exceed our fundraising goal for this year.
All contributions make the following possible:

  • Campus transition
$5000
  • Scholarship
$10,000
  • Faculty development
$5000

A gift to the Institute makes a difference and allows us to continue offering not only exceptional courses, but a community experience unlike no other.

I hope you will join us this summer at Stonehill as we strive to bring about meaningful change befitting of the times we live in.

On behalf of the Board,
John Greene
